Swāvalamban Program

What is Swāvalamban?

Swavlamban was started by Drishtee Foundation and its partners in 2017 with the aim to connect rural and urban communities in a relationship of shared prosperity.
It is a community-led Integrated village development initiative of Drishtee to enhance local livelihood opportunities and access to basic services. The model focuses on building self-reliant, sustainable, interdependent community organizations and enables the community to design and develop community-led economic and social solutions for the betterment of their own villages. We aim to reach 4,50,000 families in 5 regions to lift themselves out of poverty during a 3 year time span. We focus on uplifting rural marginal women of the families by imparting livelihood skills.
